SHP Earth Day featured Sustainable Food

This year's Earth Day Extravaganza highlighted the edible school gardens as well as approaches to healthy, sustainable & local food and gardening. Attendees enjoyed fare from A Better World Cafe and fair trade coffee courtesy of White Lotus Home, and could make upside planters or take a "wild edible walking tour" around the neighborhood. To make the food/health connection, SHP partnered with the Board of Health's Vickie White Free Community Health Fair.

Members of the EGP played a significant role and the EGP will continue to be involved in making these gardens happen.

Approaching North Fifth Ave., you'll see another raised bed on the front lawn of the Highland Park Library, planted by the HP Library Green Teens. Up next, raised beds at St. Paul's.
